thanks! Feel free to write a review on it! (you always do! lol)
Heres some more interesting facts:
“Within The Soul”, unlike the other songs, was overdubbed over time and not finished within a week, and the Reprise is basically the “outer space” version of the song, but I just ended up calling it the Reprise. The background noise in the Reprise is a track I made that I distorted to a great extent to create that outer space feel.
On “Texoma”, the man harmonica sound, when played, sounds like its saying ”what to do” over and over, which this was not done on purpose, and is just the result of my articulation of the notes on the Harmonica. This effect greatly annoys me, so I hardly ever listen to that song. It is also the only song I’ve created so far that wasn’t made originally for Stereo, the real mix is in mono.
“Seven One Two” is one of my favorite tracks on here, namely because it has such an awesome transition from one melody to another. The Sitar melody was made during the Opus IV sessions, and why I didnt use it in the album is unknown lol. Probably the best Transition I’ve made to yet p:
This whole album is pretty cool to me because every sound here was made by me, not by downloading internet sounds. And the fact I put a lot of time into it. (worked on it bit by bit everyday for 2 months) It seems like an Extra Terristial album as well, seems like something an alien would listen to while zooming down some interstellar highway :-p.
Just some FYI
Ok… it is now the weekend. And… everyone have a good one !!!!!!
I will block out a chunk of time on Monday to devote some good time to Universal Sound.
See you then! =]
What a stylistically diverse and eclectic experience!! This is just a great achievement. I am hearing more of an operatic overtone in almost all of your recordings. You have gone from a singular sound to full melodic or semi-melodic passages occurring in the midst of what can only be said to be heard as a full orchestration. For instance, I heard Fiddler on the Roof in Seven One Two. Each offering gave a sense of a visual. Texoma . . . did you hear the train a comin’? That was outstanding. Oh and the scratched record sound was super in Within Your Soul. It was like we were all transported back to a time gone by. I swore I was watching a silent movie listening to The Space Time Orchestra. I think you have a long way in such a short time! When music transports you to a place you can visualize, I’d say you have done good!
Thanks!! Haha thats weird that you heard that on Seven One Two. Yeah, i was trying to create a scene of an old western train, weird thing about that track is that it wasn’t original mixed for Stereo. It is my first track to be originally in Mono, and recorded in mono. I converted and remixed it for this version. I like the Mono better (seeing how it was meant for mono)
Lol, I was attempting for a second time to create a delayed sound pattern after the melody on Within The Soul. The first time I tried it on another song that was later kicked off the album (it sounded off key to me, other than that it was pretty cool)and was going to be the staqrter song until I made Within The Soul. I prefer the first try, although this one is a bit more advanced.
I was trying to create an old fashioned type of sound for Space Time Orchestra, with the off set record bit at the beginning.
As for me, I think of the whole album as something an interstellar orchestra would perform, sounds out space-y to me, and the type of thing that would be played by The Heart Of Gold as it swooped across the Galaxy.
Thank you very much for reviewing it!!!!! I greatly appreciate it, zipo
Sounds like we had the same thoughts. Ah, musical souls . . .
Funny you should say that, I believe you have unknowingly foresaw the concept of my work on an album I am working on Or at least the title
OMG… this is AWESOME!!
